Across Southeast Queensland, dry stack marinas play a vital role in making boating more accessible, yet many boat owners are still unaware of the benefits they offer.
The Discover Boating Dry Stack Campaign, led by Discover Boating Australia and supported by Zeal Marinas, was launched to address this gap — uniting industry participants around a shared message of accessibility, convenience and smarter boat ownership.
The campaign brings together Dry Stack facilities at Pelican Waters Marina, Scarborough Marina, Runaway Bay Marina, Redland City Marina, Pacific Point Marina and d’Albora East Coast, creating a single, recognisable platform that connects boaters with their nearest facility.
At its core, the campaign reframes boating around walk-on, walk-off convenience, secure vessel storage and reduced maintenance hurdles — removing many of the friction points that discourage participation. Educational digital content, an interactive quiz and supporting video and social media storytelling guide boaters toward storage solutions suited to their location and lifestyle.
Importantly, this is not about promoting one marina over another. It is about growing the category as a whole. By aligning under Discover Boating Australia, participating marinas benefit from a consistent, trusted message that elevates dry stack storage as best practice.
Mid-campaign results have been encouraging, with increased engagement, improved enquiry quality and positive industry feedback. Richard Barrett from Scarborough Marina noted, ‘the campaign is opening doors to audiences who previously hadn’t considered dry stack as an option — exactly the outcome the initiative set out to achieve’. As vessel registrations continue to rise, dry storage solutions will remain critical to future-proofing marina infrastructure and supporting responsible boating participation.
The Discover Boating Dry Stack Campaign highlights what can be achieved when the marina sector works collaboratively — creating awareness, strengthening infrastructure investment and ultimately supporting a healthier boating ecosystem.
